The cold cuts the range by more than a bit. On my wife's Volvo XC40 Recharge, winter range is maybe 60% of the summer range. That's a pretty steep drop, and it means if you like to take trips longer than just driving around town the EV is a lot worse.
It’s generally not a real problem. Yes, you might have to make one more stop on a long trip, but new EVs can make a full charge in like 10-15 minutes.
