As it turns out, neither is anyone else, even people who do it for a living. (If we constrain the definition of "stock trading" to mean researching and picking individual stocks.)

Yes good point. A lot of it is gambling. Still, would be nice to have a win once in a while.

  • Thing is, in order to do that, you have to play the game, and if you do, you'll lose as well as win. Have the vast majority in index funds, but if you're desperate for a win, pick 100 stocks and put a dollar in each of them (by buying fractional shares), wait 6 months, and then simply ignore the losers.
