Exactly. Their process prioritizes seniority generally, and this is another case. The process is, if the president wants another go, he gets another go; and he sure as heck wanted another go.

So one man's desires become the rule for everyone else? That doesn't sound very democratic.
There's no reason picking someone every 4 years is democratic but every 8 years isn't...
