I see about a dozen of these stories every year. Often some German municipality or some other bureaucratic enclave. Slashdot, back in its heyday, was filled with these stories.

What I'd love to see is a 5 year follow up to one of these stories. What worked, what didn't, how many people are still using the linux OS, etc. Because I feel like windows is as entrenched as always in the government space, whereas in the corporate world most people I know have migrated to macs long ago.
