You can almost immediately smell the stink of Claude on a codebase. Maybe there’s nothing “wrong” with the code (it must work, right?) but it’s somehow incredibly off putting.

You can almost immediately smell the stink of Claude on a codebase. Maybe there’s nothing “wrong” with the code (it must work, right?) but it’s somehow incredibly off putting.
What interests me is what the “stink” looks like and feels like to you and why you find it so off putting. Let’s get into the weeds. I realise I sound like a therapist.
I’ll be honest, I can’t really quantify it. But the immediate stink is the nonsensical documentation and code comments it spits out. They’re completely unintelligible. I think when I see those I’m predisposed to think everything else going to be equally low quality. I usually just bounce, but when I don’t I just have a really hard time understanding wtf is going on with the code.
