German car executives hate electric cars for some weird reason.
Actual Germans don't care and buy them like everybody else, depending on fit, availability and price.
Germany is slightly ahead (a few percentage points) of the EU plus EFTA plus UK market average according to data:

Note the German data goes back further so you can't directly eyeball them without accounting for that.
Currently just trailing France and further behind Sweden, Denmark, Norway.
not really, Germans do hate electric cars as they don't go vroom vroom, there are no emotions transported while driving them and you are doing something for the environment.
A lot of germans hate EVs because the greens said they were good.

I genuinely don't know a single German that thinks like that. But that might be because I live in BW.
