Really enjoyed this. Much more thoughtful than all the AI coverage in my daily paper, which seems to swing between doom and listing of to-be-cool prompts. And thanks for the Hofstadter link, he was one of my early heroes.
I really liked the comparison with the cricket. I haven't read Hofstadter! But, I'm glad you enjoyed it.
