Meanwhile in this thread, the current top comment is:
> OMFG! Look at the massive amount of space between the stupid pill shaped tabs ... If I wanted to use a shitty safari UI that sacrifices usability for cutesy looks, I would use Safari. ... Mozilla: why in the hell do I need to trust some extension builder to give me an amazing UI/UX?
and just a few top-level comments downthread:
> Are they forcing this? You have got to be kidding me. Why is this happening? Is this making them money or is this to cater to the ego of some product manager? ... What a fucking hostile, brazen change. Yeah, fuck you too Mozilla.
Something about Firefox makes people behave like absolute maniacs.
It’s not inscrutable and you don’t have to feign surprise and rely on hyperbole - people have strong feelings about Mozilla because it could be so much more. It could be carrying the torch for principles of open general purpose computing, respect for users, etc. in a world of user hostile big companies and proprietary software, but Mozilla either either can’t or won’t do it, and it’s a big shame. That’s a big source of the frustration you see commonly with any Firefox related announcement
