I'm a bit curious how this is showing up as posted 4 hours ago because I'm pretty sure I remember posting it about 2 days ago. Maybe it got stuck in a silent spam/moderation queue before getting approved?

Approximately the opposite. There's a "second chance" pool that automatically reinserts worthy stories into the queue as if they had been resubmitted. So rather than being moderated out and then released, this one was consciously selected for re-inclusion. More explanation here: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=11662380
