It might be the goal. Based on "The Nerd Reich" which is based on public statements of Thiel and company, the goal is a set of small feudal states each ruled by one company. With no rights for people inside.

there are a few weird nerds who want that; but _most_ of America's ultra-rich aren't part of the network state bitcoin whatever nonsense, and would be better served by helping America thrive.
The problem is that these are Thiel and his associates. They evwn have Vance in white house.
Otherwise said, ultra rich are either exactly those or silent careful never oppose them.
