I am not sure about WSL in general right now - no matter if WSL3 is more performant.

For me, Claude bypassed my sudo security by executing `wsl.exe -u root`. The Claude does not need any sudo password :)

You need to start Claude in WSL, not from outside in Windows. Windows user has complete ownership over the WSL it launches

  • The funny thing is: I launched it from within WSL. But it can call wsl.exe -u root from within WSL.

I was very surprised this works, but that was Claude’s solution to editing a config file that needs sudo access without knowing the password (it edited /etc/fstab)
