Remote attestation is the root of all evil and a severe threat to freedom. It's disturbing that those working on this technology are so willing to "put the nooses on their own necks."

I'd go even further and say that secure boot and hardware roots of trust are the root of all evil.
Do you have any common examples of those?
Look up how any modern smartphone boots.
