New Cars must have a backup camera by law. So the screen is mandatory.
A video display for a backup camera is mandatory; an all-encompassing whiz-bang touchscreen glass cockpit is not.
(And yeah, I am very appreciative of the fact that physical buttons, levers, and knobs often cost much more to produce than touchscreen interfaces do.)
Could be integrated into the instrument dash screen.
You could have the screen and also knobs and buttons. It’s not really that difficult.
