You read more. "Learned" is if you actually manually applied it. Otherwise its like reading fiction - illusion of productivity or brain function.
Solving sudoku would be a better exercise for your brain and more load.
You think reading fiction is supposed to be productive? I suspect even aphantasics will be using brain function when reading fiction.
You read that part of their comment backwards. They called it an illusion, not actually productive.
