It's pretty clear to me that Apple doesn't even want you to upgrade your old Apple TV. None of the new Siri features are even gated by the new Apple TV. Apple likely has software updates in mind after the release but for now, it seems that Apple is intentionally signaling to current Apple TV owners that there's no need to upgrade yet. I guess that's....fine? It's just surprising to me that it seems like for the price, there's no reason for a new customer to buy it either?

People like me were waiting on the sidelines for years to upgrade but hey, I'll keep my money if you can't dream up anything interesting Apple. I can always spend it somewhere else.
