Similarly to the parent comment, I am quite comfortable with Safari sending my search query to Google when I perform a Google search.
I’m not sure how that’s nonsense.
by default is the key. You can choose duck duck go, but you have to navigate through settings -> apps -> safari first.
also you cannot enable private browsing by default. You have to turn it on manually, and updating safari will reset all that.
The key to what? If you want to have a search box that doesn’t need some setup wizard, then you have to pick a default.
And I think a typical user, generally, would expect that a browser saves history and so on by default. People like AutoFill!
