I don't think I have seen a case where using a passkey stops me from using my password on another device/platform that doesn't have access to the passkey.

That's because we are still in the "barely lukewarm" stages of boiling the frog

    Maybe, but ultimately a website/service wants active users, and making it too hard to log in from different platforms or reset your auth and get back in is not going to get them more users or better user retention.
