Middle aged family men are kinda invisible. The government only sees them when it needs taxation. Kids only see them when they need money. His wife ignores him too, or rather, they ignore each other as roommates.
They can’t escape because all those legal and moral responsibilities. They have to wait patiently until retirement —- if their hearts allow them to live that long.
I'm pretty happy being invisible these days. I have to balance my business, family, friends, hobbies and interests (I particularly enjoy going to jamband concerts, cooking for my family, and I've really gotten into anime and manga lately). Sometimes I feel a little guilty being invisible because we kinda need to speak up as much as we can these days, but to me, invisibility is an asset that allows me to enjoy life.
I think that's a pretty good type of invisibility, congrats!
thats honestly kind of reassuring as a young person. i'm already invisible, so i don't have anything to fear as i age i suppose.
But you won’t have too much time for yourself and you might not like everything you have. Not saying that you will, but that’s a risk.
thats the current state anyways. i bet the risk is that it will weigh more as i get older.
