I didn't think that their article implied Claude had come up with the design.
I thought it was likely that their team of 7 included ex-Meta and ex-Google people with knowledge of those company's internal version control solutions.
I think that is exactly what it implied. Essentially, that people had described the task the VCS must achieve, the constraints, the issues with git, and Mythos had toiled away like Rumpelstiltskin and produced Scion 0.1.
