To a degree I think it comes with the rational approach. If you want to be a rationalist, you need to consider many perspectives, and somehow bring in the nuance of as many of them as possible instead of ignoring the parts that don't fit your narrative. It's very easy to be brief with one-sided takes, but nuance is boring and lengthy. That of course doesn't mean that the authors conclusions and arguments will be correct in the end.
