It seems like meta and mistral are both hedging their "best" claims geographically because they've realized they don't have to even beat deep seek anymore, they can just win customers by being "the best one I'm allowed to use".
If you can’t win everything, at least win a niche.
If you can’t win, get your politicians to ban the competition
Yep, also a time-tested strategy.
As far as I’m aware, only China does this currently.
