Would doctors weep if cancer is cured by AI?

I deeply understand the sentiment, that’s just human.

But in the grander scheme of things, it doesn’t matter who solved it, speaking for the benefit of humanity as a whole for a longer timespan than our short lives.

As long as those who have studied and contributed are acknowledged properly, I’m happy to let AI solve decades long scientific problems.
