Most of us could never afford a roadster in any form, and just like to see cool stuff on the internet.

It clearly does not look like a smaller Cybertruck though. You're just wrong there.

Man, why is this comment flagged when it's probably the most relevant in the whole thread?

Those thrusters would make parking a breeze though up on a rooftop, right?

It could hover up through a large elevator shaft into a spot as well. That way no one gets annoyed by the sight and sound from the street. I wonder how nimble it is in the air.

It's moreover not the product that will be on sale.

It's a backpack company presenting the engineering of a jetpack to promote the sales of a premium backpack with the same name.

How dare people get excited by one of the coolest demos we've ever seen. These sort of comment are ironically almost entirely politically driven while also claiming anyone who disagrees is a secret Russian bot account.

  • It’s not one of the coolest demos. The iPhone was a cool demo. I could see how I would use it every day and it would bring value to my life. This looks more like bravado

  • > How dare people get excited by one of the coolest demos we've ever seen.

I mean, it's fun but useless? It's like those semi trucks with a jet engine on them. It looks awesome but it's utterly useless.

If this is for entertainment, sure. But they're trying to sell you something here.

    • Yeah, if this was from a monster truck show, I’d think it was sick as hell. But context matters and this is essentially an ad, which inspires more scrutiny and cynicism.

Comments: Expectations set, expectations unmet. Fits a notable pattern by Musk of over promising and under delivering. In this age of misinformation, it's perhaps more painful than it could be if it were simply an amusing quirk of an eccentric billionaire.

And, speculation by Chris Norland YouTuber is the Roadster being fitted with literal rocket boosters is a portion of an argument to help justify SpaceX financially helping Tesla.

The fact that this is not the top comment clearly speaks volumes of the current state of affairs in tech.
