It's not a car, it's a car shaped thing that they created for a demo. People will complain because this should not have any impact whatsoever on TSLA, but people act like it will.
That being said, the stock tanked today so I don't think most people are buying it.
I was going to say, it definitely had an impact. TSLA is a giant company that's long past the point where stunts with no retail value are going to inspire further investment. At this point they need to figure out the fundamentals because the competition (mostly from China) is eating their lunch.
The car part is pretty neat. I like it, though you can clearly see that they grabbed a Gallardo and stylised it a la retro-futurisric.
The problem is not the car, is the flying part. No doubt is pretty impressive but I can't see myself buying it even if I had the money, the car: yes, the flying part: no.
This is just a technology demostrator trying to perhaps increase the stock value of SpaceX and Tesla.
Consider also that there could be people not interested in the car but in the hardware and the flying technology itself. The level of precision shown in the demo makes me believe that you truly don't want to commercialize such a product: is too much advanced tech for peanuts for the ones who have other plans.
Of all the flying cars I've seen, this probably isn't one. It looked like a car-shaped prop.
I'm willing to be convinced otherwise, but that will require more than a scripted demo. Meanwhile, I'll let my full self-driving Tesla drive me to my workplace in the Mars colony, where I currently live. Can't wait to see my coworker, Robby the Tesla Robot.
No one ought to be allowed to demonstrate something claiming it's an actual consumer product which will be sold "soon", when it's in reality just a tech demo of a concept which will never be road-legal.

Dude, like everything tanked today.
There's a new flying car every year. They're just never very practical, so there's a lot to prove when a new design is proposed.

It didn't fly, it landed.
> you can make cars fly and people will still complain
Until everyone who wants to buy a flying car can buy it and have it delivered next week, yes, we have every right to complain.
Until then, this Tesla demo is no different than an AI generated video. Can’t buy the car yet.

How’s that FSD from 2017?
Has it been delivered yet?
Rideshare on Tesla Network making money for you while you sleep? Oh, “concept”. Right.
it's more like "don't lie to customers" but sure
If you also constantly lie, then people will complain about the lying.
