There's a Minecraft YouTuber called TangoTek who's building a deck building game called Decked Out 3 in Minecraft. That is using a token ring system to control events and messages sent in the game to avoid conflicts [1].

Better be careful, or the IBM lawyers will hunt him down for patent infringement. Maybe he should preemptively license it to be on the safe side.
