Have security companies considered that these open models could be used as sleeper agents even when they're deployed outside of China? Is that a serious attack vector or more like science fiction?

There are theoretical attacks involving malicious weights. But the risk profile is so outrageously in favor of them not doing it that you'd essentially have to be an anti-China conspiracy theorist to find it plausible, let alone likely.
