Current models are still worse than I am, or any competent developer I've ever worked with. You act as though people tried ChatGPT in 2023 and gave up forever, but that isn't what is happening here. The cold hard truth is that, contrary to what AI boosters claim, LLMs still suck at programming and output slop.
It's fascinating how far experiences can diverge. I've had fantastic luck with it starting about a year ago, and it's been rapidly improving since.
