I don't have a strong opinion on Drupal (last used it 15? years ago, it was fine) but the people who make don't get to say "Drupal is now light-years ahead of its reputation.". That's what everyone says of their own stuff, just no.

Why wouldn't the makers of something be able to state their opinion on it? Especially an open, collaborative project with many people, and opinions, behind it.

If you disagree with the sentiment, it'd be interesting to here why - that's the sort of information that's extremely useful for makers.

  • You would probably never see anyone in a (community) leadership role say "we're worse than our reputation", the most humble you'd get is "we match our reputation" (if it's good, not bad) but "we're better than everyone says" just feels wrong to me.
