International politics is done via Twitter now","comments":[{"id":50171590,"user":"EA-3167","time":1792525212,"time_ago":"11 hours ago","type":"comment","content":"

In the same way that a child tumbling down a hill is an Olympic gymnast.","comments":[{"id":50171638,"user":"LoganDark","time":1792525446,"time_ago":"11 hours ago","type":"comment","content":"

I mean if they're in the Olympics then that is essentially true.","comments":[{"id":50171745,"user":"EA-3167","time":1792526002,"time_ago":"11 hours ago","type":"comment","content":"

The only people who think that Twitter matters are on Twitter, it’s less of an Olympic competition and more of an asylum for the terminally dim.","comments":[{"id":50172052,"user":"LoganDark","time":1792527400,"time_ago":"10 hours ago","type":"comment","content":"

I'm saying that right now, certain high-profile idiots are making it matter by definition. Once they stop using Twitter for that, then it'll stop mattering again.","comments":[{"id":50172720,"user":"EA-3167","time":1792530607,"time_ago":"9 hours ago","type":"comment","content":"

The high profile idiots might matter, their participation on Twitter doesn’t.

Twitter isn’t the active ingredient.","comments":[{"id":50174425,"user":"immibis2","time":1792541276,"time_ago":"7 hours ago","type":"comment","content":"

The medium is the message.

(Or at least, it heavily shapes the message).","comments":[],"comments_count":0,"level":6,"url":"item?id=50172779"},{"id":50172770,"user":"LoganDark","time":1792530847,"time_ago":"9 hours ago","type":"comment","content":"

They would literally announce new decisions on Twitter before anywhere else. High-impact political decisions and international decisions. You would be a fool to ignore it just because of the platform. You'd die on that hill.

> Twitter isn’t the active ingredient.

The idiots aren't an active ingredient either. Russia and Iran could have used any puppets. These ones just happen to also twitch like a frog leg.","comments":[{"id":50175420,"user":"EA-3167","time":1792550494,"time_ago":"4 hours ago","type":"comment","content":"

I’ve never had a twitter account so yeah, color me dead on that hill. I’ve been getting my information several minutes behind you, but in a much more honest, reliable, useful, and complete form.

Turns out that when it comes to info quality is genuinely important, and I have no inclination to fish through raw sewage.","comments":[],"comments_count":0,"level":7,"url":"item?id=50175420"}],"comments_count":1,"level":6,"url":"item?id=50172770"}],"comments_count":4,"level":5,"url":"item?id=50172720"}],"comments_count":5,"level":4,"url":"item?id=50172052"}],"comments_count":6,"level":3,"url":"item?id=50171745"}],"comments_count":7,"level":2,"url":"item?id=50171638"}],"comments_count":8,"level":1,"url":"item?id=50171590"}],"comments_count":9,"level":0,"url":"item?id=50171553"}],"comments_count":10,"url":"item?id=50171351"}
