Not really. I took both kids shopping with me. One preschool age, one first grade. They got little quests to find things through the store.
Sadly COVID kinda of ended the tradition.

Sadly COVID kinda of ended the tradition.
COVID ended a lot of good things.
Activities and homework would have ended it in a couple of years anyway and that's really why it hasn't come back - lack of time.
