Respectfully, you're in a bubble and few people really give a shit. Installing an ad-blocker is a ridiculously trivial exercise today, and it's now built-in to several popular browsers, but still 2/3 of internet users are not using one -- about 4 billion people.

Also, how do you scrape videos from YouTube after you "kill it"? YouTube's value is not contained within their web frontend. YouTube is popular because of the network effect they've built by providing massive amounts of free hosting for expensive-to-host content. An LLM does absolutely nothing to undermine that. And, if it ever became a threat to their bottom line, they'd just force users to use a trusted client. They don't bother now because the number of people doing what you're doing rounds to zero.

It takes a couple decades for mindsets to get updated without major forcing functions like global pandemics or industrial revolutions. Those forcing functions in software are ramping up fast though. But consider how many in China use a VPN vs US. Try to censor and you only teach subversion.

It is not free. It is paid for in attention and changes to human behavior with highly targeted advertising and engagement farming children.

It is a net negative on society and we must kill it.

Free is when millions of people all agree to share their excess bandwidth to share files freely with each other on bittorrent. Works pretty well at scale.

We never needed surveillance capitalism to share videos. That was always a con.

Make UX on decentralized video sharing look like youtube and when censorship or ads on Youtube pass a tipping point people will just start ripping youtube videos and torrenting them a lot more than they are now. Or decentralized microtransaction services like LBRY mature.

> they'd just force users to use a trusted client

Then I rip all the content and share it peer to peer with a user friendly interface.
