TIL:

> Izzat (Bengali: ইজ্জত; Hindi: इज़्ज़त; Urdu: عزت, romanized: 'izzat, lit. 'honour') literally translated: "respect" is a concept of prestige, dignity, and social respect.

  • If it is a component, then is OP wrong? Fwiw, a lot of nations have interesting variants of that kind of honor though they don't always express themselves the same way.

    • It's more than I'm not encouraging to engage with OP's point because he just wants to be a bigot. But that is separate from India having a shame based culture.
