> And just to prove that I'm an irrational human, for the last 21 years every time I pass the spot where I found the wallet I can't help but look around for a lost wallet, as if it's some magical spot where the universe deposits lost wallets.

My dog does the same thing. One day years ago he caught a rat, and that's the first place he darts to every time he goes outside. He thinks its the magic rat spot.

I've often joked that we humans are very much like dogs.

But for some reason it's never taken well when you tell a new parent that raising their baby is going to be a lot like raising a puppy.

  • Animals that we live and work with (dogs, horses) have social structures similiar enough to ours that we can slot into each other’s societies.

My beagle does this with every sidewalk spot where he’s ever found a half-eaten chicken wing in his life - just in case.

  • While it was my grandma saying this, so an old wives tale, she said chicken bones can get caught in an animal's throat. They break all super pointy amd such.

Unclear if cooked vs raw matters, I'd expect cooked would be the problem, as animals in the wild don't get that.

    • Cooked bones are definitely a risk for dogs - I always check meat I give our dog from a roast chicken to make sure it doesn't contain any bones.
