I believe the point is that every software engineer using AI is one of those “Forward Deployed Engineers”.
Although the point would be equally valid if they were OpenAI consultants. (Imagine paying twice for the help: once for the consultant and once for the tokens.)
Forward deployed engineers is a role at these companies actually openAI and misanthropic. to fix the shit their products cause at their clients.
