Seriously I want a physical home button again

You say this, but have you tried an old iPhone recently? I did, and it was actually pretty terrible. The quick little swipes to switch between apps is so much more natural now.

  • Perhaps if you know how. Watching my dad use his iPhone.. Every time have to teach him something new, and hope he remembers it.

    So stupid interface. No discoverability.

    • Whenever I use my wife's iphone I feel like an idiot. I've been working in tech for 20 years

    • I recently learned you can swipe on the address bar in Android-Chrome to navigate to the next/previous tab. Also, press+hold on the tab count button to show the tab's options e.g. close tab. Now my address bar is on the bottom of the screen.

Terrible discoverability. I guess the genalpha kids know gestures like this, but stuff like this makes me feel like a boomer.

  • Try going back to thumb typing, no long press symbols , and no cursor movement from your spacebar. I've almost thrown my test iPhone at work across a room more times than I'd like to admit (since it doesn't belong to me)...

    • I wish. The iPhone 5S is the last one I can reliably type on. Idk what they did to screw up the hitboxes.
