This has been confusing us computer nerds since the first iMac in 1998.
Regular people want their homes to look nice. It's really important to them. We may think it's weird and stupid, but that's who they are, and it decides what computers they buy.
This. I worked as a network/computer guy for the architecture department at our university. They all had iMacs, which for me was quite a win because replacing/carrying them was super easy: disconnect power chord, carry to my desk - done. Fix or install whatever needs fixing, and simple carry back.

My wife made me essentially give away my budget-friendly gaming PC and get an iMac when she moved in with me after grad school.
Did you make her replace all her shoes with your preferred brand (Crocs)? That would be a fair exchange then.
