Yes, and petrol and diesel are also different things. Completely different flashpoint and activation energy.
I don't recall saying they weren't. Was there any confusion in our thread about this?

OP uses petrol and diesel as though they are exchangeable isn't sure about the damage a fire of one kind (or the other) does to the pavement but we have to trust their expertise anyway?
