It’s not. It’s because he took inflation to the Moon. If he hadn’t had Hegseth at his side, and hadn’t gone into Iran, he’d probably still be treading water.

Covid spending took inflation to the moon. Just as economic theory predicts.

  • > Covid spending took inflation to the moon

Yes. Then the party that did that got trounced. Then nobody learned any lessons.

  • You know what was even worse for prices? 100% tariffs and blowing up the fuel supply. The government has just chosen to lie about inflation.

Inflation under Trump is half that of when Biden was in. https://finance.yahoo.com/economy/policy/article/inflation-u...

  • It wasn’t solely Biden that created that spike. Trump passed the CARES act that minted close to 3 trillion in his final year of his first term. Biden passed a trillion dollar bill too. I don’t blame them since it was to combat covid. I’m not jumping for joy because it’s half, I’m mad because it’s ticking back up.

    • Biden absolutely signed a series of inflationary bills into law and then didn’t do anything to mitigate it. (The initial Covid relief kept us out o a depression.)

Biden’s inflation peaked worse than anything Trump has done. But telling voters you’re only slapping them after the other guy punched them is about as effective as you’d think. (There is zero sense of urgency from the White House around this either.)

  • > Inflation under Trump is half that of when Biden was in

And how did that work out for Biden?

Voters don’t like inflation. Blowing up energy prices by launching a war of choice while shutting down domestic production because windmills isn’t smart policy.

    • Yep. For a lot of voters, it is literally as simple as high gas prices => vote for the other guy.

  • Actual or stated? The article lists a lot of things whose prices went up more under Trump 2 than Biden - regardless of what CPI data from the Trump government says.
