Downvoted but absolutely correct. This is what happens when you neglect working people's needs, they will always side with the authoritarian that promises a better future. Neoliberals need to be purged from the DNC if they ever want actual power like the New Deal Coalition held onto (controlled both Houses of Congress for 60 years, won 10/12 Presidential elections with their candidates too).
Nixon literally won his election by promising national price controls. The people love economic relief, even just the promise is enough to win elections.
