Obviously the movie for all its strengths and beautiful flying is still sexist. When showing it to my kids I simply disclosed it’s how things used to be and it wasn’t right and things are better now. And we need to keep them better.

Doesn't seem like a sexist movie to me, despite the fact that it depicts sexism. Maybe you didn't notice the difference?

  • Just saw the movie for the first time recently. If anything the movie toned it down for the sake of modern audiences.

What is the sexist part? That two men have a fight to marry a female airplane engineer/mechanic? That a woman runs a restaurant and is holding out for some man?

  • Framing a woman as a prize that is to be competed for does do some heavy objectification in the movie. So, yeah, that.
