The things that Northflank and Railway were apparently breached to steal aren't just things that hyperscalers would have protected worse instead of better; they're AI API keys, things that only existed because people were using hyperscalers instead of running inference on their own hardware (or on Amazon AWS EC2 GPU instances).

People have been breaking in to hosting companies to steal bulk secrets since long before there were inference tokens to steal; the modal attack probably targets database DSNs.

    • I haven't forgotten what you said, I simply don't consent to it. I go out of my way not to converse with you, but when you opt to post public comments in my field of practice that I disagree with, I will occasionally find those comments significant enough to reply to. I'm sorry you feel this strongly about this situation and bear you no particular ill will, but I'm afraid you're not reliably going to get the outcome you're demanding here, though I will continue trying my best.
