If I am reading this right, Slackware 15.0 is already fixed:

     % uname -a
     Linux XXXX 5.15.223 #1 SMP PREEMPT Thu Oct 22 00:03:07 CDT 2026
     x86_64 Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4810MQ CPU @ 2.80GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

You’re still on slackware? I’ve not thought about it in years! How’re things over there?

  • It works mostly fine, pretty easy to work with, might perform well when you're sleeping / not around, packages are old (not neccesarily a bad thing). The default kernel is vintage 5.15, so just compile your own. Also elilo really sucks so bring your own bootloader while you're at it.
