Also, Wero is going to be used for tap-to-pay in stores (initial roll-out planned for 2027). Carrying a second phone is going to be old pretty soon. Also, I think we should fight this on principle.

For tap-to-pay you're fucked anyway if they chose to rely on Google pay.
At the risk of being called a dinosaur, did you consider using a bank card?
