I contacted ASN about this, they told me that wero indeed has some so-called "security requirements" that are not compatible with custom ROMs.

It says "If your device uses a modified version of Android (a custom ROM), such as LineageOS or Pixel Experience, the Wero app cannot be installed for security reasons."

It's absolutely ridiculous but it seems this is intended by Wero for now. I hope there's enough pushback that the banks can overturn such a ridiculous requirement. I think everyone who is impacted by this should contact their bank to show them this is a real issue.
