Why? Doesn’t make any sense to me although there is much speculation as to why Musk wants to merge them.

I mean the synergy is there to do some amazing stuff with vehicles.
I don’t see it. The roadster stuff isn’t going to lead to any mass market or even niche profitable product for a very very long time if ever.
I could pick nearly any two random companies and come up with equally wild speculative synergies.
