If I run $grep name /proc/cpuinfo | sort -u
model name : Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz
then $cat /proc/cpuinfo | grep ht
Definitely there under flags Should I be concerned?

Your processor isn't affected. It would be i[357]-[67]xxx processors only.
But a new computer may serve you well...
