Fascists famously accused foreigners of promoting "degeneracy": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degenerate_art. Parent poster used this term with the exact same meaning and intention.

Just because someone bad used a word doesn't make the word bad. Fascists also walked, talked, and breathed, that doesn't mean everyone out hiking is a xenophobic fascist. I still fail to see where race is at play.
