Well at least you starred the project. I get recruitment spam and unwanted surveys from “researchers” on my GitHub emails all the time, having starred nothing related. The worst offender is Turing.com; they spammed emails of all my GitHub accounts repeatedly before I blackholed them, and their unsubscribe button seemed to be a “here’s a real human, please spam more” button.
