Wait. Google Earth has always been available for Linux? https://www.google.com/earth/versions/

They probably mean the old desktop one that has been re-branded to "Google Earth Pro". The UI looks a decade old but it's still useful for doing more advanced things like taking measurements.

  • Yup. That's the one. If it works for you, great, but it crashes on symbol issues for many people.

    • FWIW, I use Google Earth Pro on Fedora quite often, and I'm deeply appreciative of the work it took to make that such a simple and enjoyable experience.

      I hate that the vocal and tiny minority of linux users who are never satisfied are the ones that most people hear from.
