I worked at a company where the team was asking for an internal dashboard to see real time metrics from these events we handle. My boss was like "Yeah, we are gonna need 6 months and a team of 5, and we need to plan this out right for once".

I went and wrote a version of it in a weekend and it ended up being what they needed. They had a few minor requests which took an hour or two but not much overall.

My boss was pretty mad at me that I made him look bad though lol. I could have handled that part better I guess, but I hate when people want to spend forever planning especially when you can get something out real quick.
